Compassionate Doctor
I can't say enough about the dedication and expertise of Dr.Howell. Throughout the years, I have had Chiropractic manipulation to alleviate the pain I have experienced from Scoliosis as well as Sciatica. One of the first things he did was to put a name to my back condition. I had heard of Scoliosis, but because I was not a severe case, undetected by the naked eye, all I had ever been told was that I was having muscle spasms.
Since having 'discovered' Dr. Howell, 11 members of my extended family are now enjoying the results of his work. All of us appreciate his knowledge, skills and obvious concern for each of his patients. He treats us with compassion when we need his help in "straightening us up". He never promises miracles (although we feel he does miraculous work) and never treats us unnecessarily. He tells it like it is and makes every effort to relieve pain and discomfort.

Bulging Disc
I had a bulging disc and was in a lot of pain. Since I didn't want any type of surgery, I was treated successfully by Dr. Howell. I am now pain free. Constant Migraines
Dr. Howell & Staff:
For the past 10 years, I have suffered from daily migraines. I have seen countless doctors and specialists to try to relieve the constant pain. I was even taking pain medication on a regular basis. My co-worker would hear me complain of my migraine pain. She recommended I go see Dr. Howell. After my first week of getting treatment, my migraines decreased significantly! Now, it has been 6 weeks since I had my last migraine!
Dr. Howell is fantastic to work with. He is extremely patient and will take time answering any questions. He finds out exactly what kind of pain you are having so he can help relieve your pain. Prolonged Injury and Reflux
I started going to Dr. Howell when a co-worker of mine recommended him. I had been experiencing lower back issues for a long period of time (over 10 years) due to a sports injury. While going to Dr. Howell for this issue (which is no longer an issue) we talked about family and I had mentioned that my oldest son (then 9) has had issues with reflux since he was 2 weeks old and has dealt with this ever since with medication and altering his diet. Little did I know that this casual conversation would change my son's lifestyle.
Dr. Howell was wonderful with Andrew and after only a few treatments, he was able to get off any medication, no longer experienced symptoms of reflux, and started eating foods which had always exacerbated the condition previously. Andrew will soon be 12 and is still medication free and able to experience a whole new realm of foods he previously had to avoid.

Misalignment of Hips
My daughter, who is now 12, had been having knee pain for nearly 4 years when we came to see Dr. Howell. The pain started off only when she would run a lot or hold still for long periods of time, like riding in the car. It eventually increased to the point that she had to quit gymnastics, didn't want to ride her bike or walk at all.
On a trip to Disney World, we actually had to rent a wheelchair for our otherwise healthy 10 year old! Over the course of 4 years we had been to several different doctors, had 2 MRI's, done physical therapy, been to a different chiropractor, and anything else the doctors thought might help. We were finally referred to Dr. Howell by Chris Kissel, who we were going to for Muscle Activation Technique. After treating my daughter a few times, she referred us because she thought her hips were out of alignment and that might be causing the pain. We came to Howell Chiropractic and had X-rays taken of her hips, and they were definitely out of alignment.
Dr. Howell treated her for a few weeks, and we were all hoping for immediate relief. After a couple weeks, her hips were consistently holding alignment, so he told us there was no reason for us to continue coming. Her pain was still there just as bad, so I thought it had just been another dead end. About 2 weeks after our last visit, my daughter came to me and said "Mom, I think what Dr. Howell did is helping". Over the next 3 weeks her knee started hurting less and less until now she is completely pain free, back doing gymnastics, riding her bike, and getting to be a kid again! Because the hip had been out of alignment for so long, it just took a little longer for all the muscles to readjust. I will be forever thankful for my daughter now being pain free!

Absence Seizures
My name is Stephanie and I am twenty-three years old. In 2013, I was re-diagnosed with epilepsy. I suffer from a form of epilepsy called absence seizures. Absence seizures cause a lapse of awareness and are sometimes accompanied with blank staring. The seizures begin and end abruptly, lasting anywhere from five to ten seconds. On a good day I would have roughly five to ten seizures, and on a bad day I could have upwards of twenty-five, but that was until I came to see Dr. Howell. My experience here has been nothing short of wonderful. I was informed that I had three rotated vertebrae in my neck, two in my back, and my hip was out of place, all of which caused a lot of stress on my body and brain.
After a couple of weeks of seeing Dr. Howell, not only was my pain pretty much gone, but so were my seizures. I am now going on three weeks seizure free and I haven't been medicated throughout this entire process! I know the reason I have been seizure free is because of the chiropractic work done in this office. I am forever grateful and will be recommending this office to others and returning here in the future.

"I Got My Life Back"
I was referred to Dr. Howell by family members who were alarmed by my loss of energy and increased pain even though I was seeing a local chiropractor. My family convinced me that Dr. Howell was really good and that I should drive 35 minutes each way to meet this chiropractor. And guess what, they were right!!
I was surprised by Dr. Shawn's approach. First off, I didn't need to come in 3 times a week, X-rays were done at the office and after 4 sessions, if I wasn't seeing results I liked, Dr. Shawn said I was free to find help elsewhere. He made it easy for me to not continue with him but that would have been a big mistake for me!!
After several months of going to Howell Chiropractic, I am happy to say that I was able to enjoy many activities I had stopped doing. My migraines have lessened and I no longer had sudden falls that I was having in the past. My energy is up and I was on the road to improvement. I got my life back!
